Day 68: “On My Way Back Home” – Band of Horses

Today we suggest a soft melody, evocative and involving, meditative. The theme is about a coming back or just the end of an experience, which could be a trip, a way you phisically walk, or life itself.

We are again in indie-rock genre, with a very unmissable band in my opinion. And just one year ago their new album was released, Infinite Arms, from which today’s song comes. This album is important because it marks the important passage from the first indipendent record, the Sub Pop Records, to the major Columbia, maybe showing slighlty the influence of this change. But I think this third work is equally good.

The entire album is a journey, and Band of Horses keep alive their typical southern rock sound. The song of today, with its simplicity, is surely sweeping, a little dreamy, also thanks to Benjamin Bridwell‘s soft voice.
