nemu02Day 46: “Through Thick and Thin” – Masterplan. Another great Metal Ballad!
As for Edguy’s song of day 43, today’s song can be aswell considered as a soul of ballad disguised in metal music. Metal for the sound, Ballad for lyrics and intention.
Released as bonus track for the first album Masterplan in 2003, “Through Thick and Thin” fully celebrated the original line up of the band: the particular and extraordinary voice of Jørn Lande, the heavy guitar riff and the powerful drums.
We are once again talking about meetings, that kind of incidental and casual ones that become decisive: as in “Save me“, the girl is able to finally awake the soul and heart of the main character of the story, who is so far unable to see and to still hope in Love.
There was no tour after the last album, the reunion one between Jørn and the band (Time To Be King, 2010). As reported on the official website, the intention is to produce in autumn the new Masterplan’s album. We really hope to be able to see them live in Italy again soon!
As the song was always a bonus track, it has not released as single, so we don’t have in here the official video. This said, the song really deserves a listen. Here is it for you to decide!
